Class 110(i) [Also in Group XXVII] A centrifugal blower 5 supplying scavenging air to an internal-combustion engine is driven by the engine crankshaft 3 through an intermediate gear 14 which coacts with the blower drive gear 16 either by direct meshing or, as shown, by a spring drive connection 19 to a gear 18. In Fig. 8 (not shown) the connection 19 is between the gear 18 and the extended hub of the gear 14, on which hub the gear 18 is mounted.
