Abstract

471,319. Pumps. AKTIEBOLAGET ATLAS DIESEL. April 21, 1937, No. 11439. Convention date, April 23, 1936. [Class 7 (ii)] A scavenging-pump 11 is driven by a shaft 7 extending along the side of the engine and connected to the main shaft adjacent the flywheel 3, or other device for preventing vibration. The connection at each end of the shaft 7 may be by spur or chain gearing, but at the pump end it is, preferably direct. As shown, the intake duct of a centrifugal pump faces the outside and the pump forces air through a duct 13 to a chamber 14 extending along the side of the engine above the shaft 7.
