Abstract

679,888. Electric filters. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and SIMPSON, A. I. F. June 6, 1951 [July 13, 1950], No. 17569/50. Class 40 (viii). In a crystal filter circuit including a bridge circuit having in adjacent arms a piezo-electric crystal 4 and a capacity 5, the input to the circuit being applied between the ends A and C of the arms remote from their junction D and the output being taken across the other diagonal B, D of the bridge, a high resistance 7 is connected in parallel with the condenser 5. This increases considerably the attenuation of a signal at the parallel resonance frequency of the crystal. The latter may be mounted in a separate earthed screening compartment, and the windings of the input transformer may also be similarly mounted. The connections between the two halves of the bridge are made through the inner conductors of coaxial lines 9 and 10 the outer conductors of which are earthed. A differential adjustable condenser 8 is provided to allow adjustment to eliminate an interfering signal.
