Abstract

676,328. Pulse shortening circuits. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. March 3, 1950 [March 3, 1949], No. 5439/50. Class 40 (vi). In a pulse shortening circuit the input pulse is applied directly and via a phase inverting and delaying means to a mixer circuit comprising two parallel connected valves so that an output pulse is produced whose duration is determined by the delay time of the delaying means. The negative going input pulse at terminals 1, 2 is applied directly to grid 13 of the double triode valve to cut-off the left-hand section so that the potential of anode 14 rises and is held at this level until the delayed positive going pulse applied at grid 12 via the phase inverting stage 4 and delay network 8 causes the right-hand section of the valve to conduct hard, thus lowering the potential of anode 15. A positive going output pulse is thus produced across load 16 the duration of which is determined by the delay introduced by network 8.
