674,268. Cake slicers. HALL, W-A., and POWELL, D. T. Jan. 15, 1951 [Jan. 14, 1950], No. 990/50. Class 28 (ii). A cake on a table 1 is supported for horizontal slicing in layers by a continuous abutment wall 2 of U or V-shape having at least one guide slot 3 parallel to the table to guide the knife 4 during slicing. The cake may rest on a vertically movable platform 5 let into the table. The platform is raised by a pedal 10 through a lever 8 and bar 9. Adjustable stops 7 determine the lowest position of the table. The knife 4 being passed through the cake from right to left finally comes against a stop comprising knife sharpening wheels 11.
