673,785. Grinding. HENHIKSEN, A. Oct. 18, 1950 [Oct. 19, 1949], No. 25399/50. Class 60. An electric-drive for a grindstone 2 normally driven by a hand-crank comprises an electric motor 8 driving a frictiondrum 10 through reduction gearing, the parts being mounted in a frame 4 attached tiltably to a support 1 for the grindstone so that the drum tilts, due to gravity, into engagement with the grindstone. The drum 10 is driven by a belt from the motor 8 which may be pivoted direct to the support 1 and carry the frame 4. Replaceable-bearings 11 for the drum 10 are held in slots 13 in the frame 4 by screws 14 carried by loose-plates 16 which are secured to the frame by nails 18 acting in slots 19. Lubricating passages may be formed in the screws 14 to communicate with passages in the bearings 11.
