Abstract

672,800. Dynamo - electric machines. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and CRANSTON, W. M. Aug. 4, 1950 [Aug. 5, 1949], No. 20468/49. Class 35. In order to reduce the amount of ripple in the output of a small D.C. generator, the armature has its winding slots 14 surrounded by a tube(s) 15 of magnetic material extending beyond the ends of the armature core. Alternatively, two tubes 20, Fig. 2, are provided, one over each end of the core. In a further arrangement, the core of the armature is reduced at its ends to receive the above tubes.
