671,888. Sawling. SESTAK, J. Aug. 18, 1950, No. 20499/60. Class 145 (ii). A saw for cutting up wood billets 12 has a series of circular saws 13 arranged offset i.e. parallel to each other and with axes staggered; and a conveyer 10 which carries the billets past the saws. Each billet is engaged by a spring device 11 (see Fig. 3), which devices are secured at intervals to the conveyer 10. The chain link 20 and pivoted jaw 21 have teeth to grip the billet, a spring 22 pressing the jaw onto the billet. The conveyer is arranged as an inclined plane, at the top of which stops (not shown), press up the spring 22 thus releasing the cut billet..
