Abstract
Urea complexes of straight-chain organic compounds are formed by treating a mixture of organic compounds with urea at a series of successively lower temperature levels and separating the complexes formed at each level. The starting temperature may be about 75-100 DEG C., and diluents or solvents may be added to the reaction mixture. Complexes containing varying proportions of urea may be formed by varying the conditions of reaction. The organic compounds treated, the methods for the separation and regeneration of the straight-chain compounds from the complexes and the applications of the process are those described in Specification 671,456. Specification 671,457 also is referred to.ALSO:Oils are refined by treating with urea at a series of p successively lower temperature levels and separating the urea complexes formed at each level. The starting temperature may be about 75-100 DEG C., and diluents or solvents may be added to the reaction mixture. The complexes may be separated and decomposed by methods described in Specification 671,456 and the applications of the process are also those mentioned in that Specification. Specification 671,457 also is referred to.
