671,147. Disc brakes. KLAUE, H. Feb. 15, 1950, No. 3911/50. Class 103 (i). A hydraulically and mechanically-operated disc brake of the type in which, to apply the brake, two brake discs 6 and 7 are rotated in different directions, so that they are axially displaced, by the action of balls 12 disposed in inclined recesses 10 in members carried on the inner sides of the discs, into engagement with inner faces on the brake drum 1, is characterized in that the two levers, 29 and 30, by which the brake is mechanically actuated, are pivoted at 23 and 25 to the hydraulic brake cylinders 13 and 14, so that by this arrangement the screwed member 20, Fig. 5, on the end of each brake cylinder, provides for an adjustment of the discs both in mechanical and hydraulic operation. The two levers 29 and 30, which move together by the action of the projection 36 on lever 30 engaging the end of lever 29, have extensions 31, 32 which have a camming action on the sleeve 33 of the hydraulic actuator, in engagement with the adjusting member 20.
