670,497. Decorating glass objects. CZECHOMORAVIAN GLASSWORKS, NATIONAL CORPORATION. March 24, 1948 [March 25, 1947], No. 8611/48. Class 93. Blown or hand shaped glass articles, while in a plastic but cooled state, are coated with a fresh layer of plastic glass on which desired patterns are impressed by knives or needles. A suitable apparatus consists of a series 1 of plates having cutting edges or needles mounted on brackets 2 which can slide normally to the axis of rotation of the article by means of a disc 3 provided with radial grooves and of a further disc 4, provided with spiral grooves, driven by a lever 5. Movement of the lever draws the brackets radially together so that the plates impress a pattern on the article centred round the axis of the apparatus.
