In a telemotor system of the type comprising a transmitting member and a receiving member each including a hydraulic cylinder and a piston therein one element of each member, i.e. either the piston or cylinder being movable and the other stationary and a pump positively driven by the movable element of the transmitting member during predetermined portions of its strokes for supplying liquid to the system so as to compensate for leakage the movable element of the receiving member is positively stopped in a predetermined position during each operative stroke for defining one end of each such stroke and a relief valve is provided for permitting any surplus liquid to escape at a pressure above the normal working pressure of the system. As shown, fixed pistons 2, 4 co-operate with movable cylinders 1, 3 respectively. The transmitter cylinder actuates a piston 16 which pumps oil into the system and an adjustable stop 12 is provided to limit the stroke of the cylinder 3. When the pressure rises at the end of the stroke excess liquid, if any, is returned to the pump suction by a valve 21. The cylinder 1 is operated for instance by a cam (not shown) which co-operates with a roller 5. The return stroke is effected by fluid such as air under pressure. As shown, air under pressure from a tank 13 acts directly or indirectly (through the medium of oil) in a space 14 of the cylinder 3.
