669,105. Non-return valves. DIENES, L., [trading as DIENES, K. R.], and KOHLER, R. April 23, 1949 [April 24, 1948], No. 10813/49. Class 135. An annular-plate, non-return valve comprises apertured seat and support plates 5, 6 secured together by a stud 7, a plurality of coaxial annular valve plates 9, and springs 16, fewer in number than the valve plates 9, loading the latter through radial strips 15. The plate 6 has annular guide-grooves for the plates 9 and radial grooves for guiding the strips 15 of which, e.g. four may be provided. In a modification, the radial strips may all be connected to a hub on the stud 7 and a single, central spring provided, the radial guide grooves in the plate 6 being, in this case, dispensed with. Leaf springs may be employed instead of helical springs.
