667,588. Closure caps. SILK, W. F. July 5, 1950 [Jan. 6, 1950], No. 405/50. Class 125(iii) A key-operated closure cap 28 for tubes such as the filling tubes of motor vehicle fuel tanks has a lock barrel 14 rotatably mounted in the cap carrying a detent member 17 adapted to be moved by the key 15 into and out of engagement with a lug 25 of a securing strap 23 fixed to the outside of the tube, rotation of the cap being prevented by a stop 22 on the tube engaging stops 20, 21 on the cap. On withdrawal of the key from the barrel 14 Jocking pins enter a slot in the cap body to prevent rotary movement of the barrel. The stops may be arranged to extend within the tube.
