A toy vehicle comprising dislocatable pivoted elements, including wheel carrying elements, which separate or move apart by spring means under the action of a shock, has, in the car embodiment shown in Fig. 1, a frame 1 with spindles 1-20 on which rear body part 6, front and top body parts 13, 15, 19, and doors 21 are pivoted. When front bumper 27 receives an impact, rods 26 engage parts 24 of the doors which swing outwards, allowing the arms of springs 7, 16 on spindles 5, 12 to urge the body members in the dislocated positions illustrated in Fig. 2 (not shown) giving the appearance of a wreck. The toy is readily put in its original condition by the doors being closed and retaining the pivoted members as in Fig. 1. A clockwork mechanism 3 may propel the toy which may take the form, for example, of a train or aircraft.
