Abstract
Boiler oil intended as fuel for diesel engines is purified by first subjecting the oil to emulsion-breaking heating, and then to centrifugal separation to remove water and solid particles, the water being continuously and separately removed and the solid impurities removed separately, and either intermittently or p continuously, through sludge outlets in the wall of the separator bowl; the oil is finally subjected to another centrifugal separation at a temperature at least 10 DEG C. lower than that in the first separation. The emulsion-breaking heating is carried out at a temperature of 80 DEG C. or higher. Specifications 243,666, [Class 91], and 654,666 are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 616,908.
