Abstract
665,975. Dial gauges. HALDEX AKTIEBOLAGET. Dec. 16, 1949 [April 1, 1949], No. 32327/49. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 17, 1950]. Class 106 (ii). The indicating hands of a dial gauge are actuated through pinions by a rack 31 carried by a sleeve 21 slidable axially on a plunger 4 and urged into contact with a stop 30 thereon by a spring 24 which is weaker than a spring 14 urging the plunger 4 outwards so that damage to the indicating mechanism due to sudden movement of the plunger 4 is avoided and the dial gauge is characterized in that the upper surface of the sleeve 21 is bevelled so that small adjustments of zero may be made by rotating the plunger 4 by means of knurled parts 8 or 17. One end of each spring 24, 14 is attached to a fixed part 3, 5 of the casing 1 and the other ends are attached to arms 22, 12 which slide in guides 26, the arm 22 being fixed to the sleeve 21 and the arm 12 being coupled to the plunger 4 by a screw 13 engaging a groove in the plunger so as to allow the plunger to be rotated. The upper surface of the sleeve 21 or one half of the circumference thereof may be stepped for locating it in different positions.
