665,374. Knitting-machines. KANGOL PATENTS, Ltd., and HUBER, G. M. Feb. 24, 1950 [March 1, 1949], No. 5485/49. Class 74 (ii). The usual needle selecting cylinder for a flat machine for knitting berets is replaced by a series of strips A mounted on members B extending between the links C of two chains engageable with sprockets D which are rotated to bring the strips A into the operative position. The sprockets and chains together with the strips A are moved bodily to bring the strips into contact with the needles for needle selection. The ends of the strips may be stepped so that the needles engaged by the stepped portions are operated to tuck.
