Abstract
664,266. Clutches. RAMSDEN, F. G., and SUTTON, A. March 13, 1950 [Feb. 16, 1949], No. 4174/49. Class 80 (ii). A centrifugally actuated friction clutch comprises sec tor shaped blocks 5 which are adapted to be movable radially in compartment: formed by radial rib: 2 on a driving disc member 1 to engage with an internal fric tion surface on a driven member 7 The blocks, 5 may be of wood and may be weighted with meta inserts or they may be of other suitable friction material or they may be faced with such material. Ball or roller bearings 10 may be arranged between the driving and driven members and held in position by a plate 14 secured to the driving shaft 12. A pulley 16 may be secured to the driven member 7.
