663.378. Agricultural implements. STEVENS, A. H. (Food Machinery and Chemical Corporation). Jan 3, 1949, No. 58/49. Class 6(i) [Also in Groups XXXI and XXXII] An agricultural tractor, which may be of the walk-type or may have a seat provided (see Group XXXI), comprises a pair of driving wheels 1 which together with a transmission casing and forwardly projecting power unit 17 are pivotable for steering about a vertical pivot 52 at one end of the tubular main frame member 53, to which is attached a steering hand-wheel 57,' connected by pulleys and rope to the steering head, a pair of trailing wheels 76 of independently adjustable track, and a vertically adjustable tool-carrying bar 80. Each trailing wheel 76 is adjustable for height at 74 and is carried by an L-shaped' supporting leg 72 which is clamped in one of a pair of inverted channel members 71 secured to the main frame member 53. The wheels 76 are thus independently adjustable for running between rows of crops. The wheels may have flanges as shown, adapted to bear against the side wall. of a furrow when ploughing, to resist lateral thrust. The tool-carrying device comprises a frame cross-member 86 having vertical end members 77. Pivotally mounted on the lower end of members 77 is a bar 80 for carrying any suitable tool, adjustable for height by link 81 and hand-lever 82 engageable with a quadrant 83.
