659,555. Bricks; walls. BEANLAND, F D. Oct. 3, 1949, No. 25365. [Classes 20(iv) and 87 (i) A brick 10 in. having a central aperture 12 and corresponding end grooves 11 is provided on its upper and lower faces with at least one tongue 13 and one groove 14. In the form shown in Fig. 3, adjacent tongues and grooves are provided centrally and near the front and rear faces. In a modification, only the central tongues and grooves are provided and a transverse groove is provided in the upper face to receive a wire tie in a cavity wall. In a further modification, a separate tongue and groove are provided near the front and rear faces. A corresponding header brick 20, Fig. 4, is provided with two apertures 23 and transverse tongues 21, and grooves 22. In a corner brick 40, Fig. 5, for a single brick or cavity wall, the aperture 42 is connected by a groove 46 to a groove 45 and by tongues 43 and grooves 44 to a groove 41. A corner brick for a double brick wall is of L-shape with a vertical groove in two faces. Various wall constructions are shown employing these bricks.
