Abstract
658,929. Furniture frames and mountings. BECKER, O. July 19, 1949, No. 18984. Convention date, July 24, 1948. [Classes 52 (i) and 52 (ii)] Seats, chairs, beds &c. having metal tube frames are arranged so that the load-bearing surface is connected at its ends to the resilient framing so that the entire surface is free to oscillate or yield, the connections being preferably at right angles to the application of the load. Fig. 1 shows a frame 1 at each side to which at points 2, 3 is connected a seat 4 and back 5. The side frames 1 are also connected by a cross member 8 and abutments or feet 6 are provided. Fig. 6 shows a bed end 1 the mattress frame being connected thereto at 2, 3. Various forms of frames are described in the Specification and in some cases the backs are adjustable in relation to the seats.
