Abstract
658,255. Magnetic induction accelerators. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Nov. 13, 1947, No. 30223. Convention date, Nov. 20, 1944. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] In a magnetic induction accelerator in which the electron source is situated in the vicinity of the equilibrium orbit, the anode for producing the initial velocity of the electrons consists of two parts at differing positive potentials relative to the cathode. By adjustment of these potentials the angle of entry of the electrons into the equilibrium orbit may be controlled. The cathode may be located in a cup-shaped electrode at cathode potential. Where it is desired to accelerate electrons in both directions the cathode may be located in a tubular electrode. The anode parts may be plates or semi-cylinders on either side of the cathode and surrounding electrode, and may have various shapes.
