[Class 78 (i)] Two conveyers, one of which is an endless wire mesh band, are maintained in alignment by means which includes one or more toothed wheels, the teeth of which mesh with the wire band at a position between its edges, the toothed wheel or wheels being operatively connected to the other conveyer so as to transmit tracking movements of the wire band to this other conveyer. Dough shapes are delivered from a panning conveyerband 1 to the receiving end of a wire mesh ovenband 4. The panning band 1 passes over a knife-edge 6 and is mounted in a frame 2. The frame 2 at its remote end, not shown, is mounted for oscillation about a vertical pivot, as described in Specification 472,270. Alternatively, frame 2 may be fixed and the knife-edge 6 mounted for movement. The moving part, i.e. frame 2, as shown, carries a pair of arms 5, one on each side, which support at their forward 'ends a shaft 9, the height of which can be adjusted by means of nuts 8. A double arm crank 10 is freely mounted on the shaft 9 between two collars and carries at its ends two sprocket wheels 11 or preferably two groups of sprocket-wheels so as to provide a number of rows of teeth. The teeth engage the underside of the wire mesh band between its edges. The position may be changed by adjusting the collars along shaft 9 from time to time to reduce overall wear, a number of locking-holes being provided in the shaft for this purpose. Fine adjustment to line the teeth with the mesh pattern is carried out by loosening grub screws 14 holding the ends of the shaft 9 and moving the shaft axially, then re-securing. Instead of a fixed vertical adjustment by means of the nuts 8 the sprockets 11 may be spring-pressed against the underside of wire band 4.
