Abstract

656,477. Composite building units; reinforced concrete. PERRY, A. R., and BUILDING TECHNIQUE, Ltd. March 9, 1948, Nos. 7255 and 16242. [Classes. 20(iv) and 87(i)] A building unit made of aerated or cellular cement or concrete is reinforced with steel wool, wood wool or other fibres or fibrous material such as scrim in combination with sheets of perforated or reticulated metal or wire netting. In one form, a mat of fibres 7 enclosed between perforated metal sheets 8, is pressed into aerated concrete 10 in a mould 6 to form a central reinforcement. The fibres may extend through the holes in the metal sheets. The unit may be faced with ordinary concrete or cement or with fibrous material.
