Abstract
An antifungus composition for soil, seeds, plants &c. comprises a carrier and a non-Daltonian cadmium complex having a solubility such that by mixing one part by weight of the complex with 100 parts by weight of water at 20 DEG C, the dissolved complex yields between 0.00003 and 0.0049 grams of cadmium per 100 cc. of solution. Specified complexes have the following compositions:-(1) 4.5 per cent CdO, 11.7 per cent CuO, 4.8 per cent ZnO, 32.9 per cent CaO, 5.9 per cent CrO3, 11.7 per cent SO3, 28.5 per cent H2O; (2) 4.0 per cent CdO, 12.2 per cent CuO, 34.4 per cent CaO, 4.3 per cent CrO3, 1.4 per cent Na2O, 15.2 per cent SO3, 28.5 per cent H2O; (3) 4.9 per cent CdO, 12.7 per cent CuO, 5.2 per cent ZnO, 35.7 per cent CaO, 16.1 per cent SO3, 25.4 per cent H2O; (4) 4.6 per cent CdO, 57.6 per cent CaO, 5.1 per cent CrO3, 32.7 per cent H2O; (5) 10.3 per cent CdO, 31 per cent CuO, 26.2 per cent ZnO, 19.3 per cent CrO3, 13.2 per cent H2O. The complexes are prepared by mixing the components in the presence of water until equilibrium is obtained and drying and grinding the products. The compositions are preferably applied in aqueous suspension. Specification 652,427 is referred to.
