Abstract

653,905. Cooling transformers and associated rectifiers &c. HACKBRIDGE & HEWITTIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and BROWNE, A. DE M. Feb. 24, 1948, Nos. 5441 and 9321. [Class 64(iii)] An electric transformer 10 is cooled by a fluid circulated through the transformer casing 11 and through an external circuit, part of which lies in the path of an air stream which cools apparatus. such as an electric current rectifier, supplied by the transformer. Radiators 16, 18 may be arranged at the outlet and inlet of a casing 13 containing the rectifier 12 and a fan 14. In a modification the oil in contact with the transformer is not circulated but is cooled by water circulating through the external circuit and through pipes immersed in the oil.
