Abstract

653,885. Bricklayers jigs. PIPER, W. Sept. 15, 1948, Nos. 24264 and 26000 [Class 20(ii)] A jig for forming an opening in a wall for a door or window comprises a rectangular frame adjustable for height and width and provided with stays 35. The jig may support a window or door frame around which the wall is built. The horizontal bars of the frame are formed by telescoping parts 14, 15 secured in adjusted position by wing bolts in slots on the parts 14, 15 may be connected together by a sleeve having screw threads of opposite hand. The side members 10, 11 may be adjustable for height in a similar manner to the horizontal members. The frame may be formed of detachable parts and is spiked to the floor, and door &c. frame by means of holes 32, 34.
