[Class 141] A shoulder pad comprises an upper piece a, Fig. 1, of resilient and reinforced fabric to which the shape of an arch is given, by sewing along a straight or slightly curved line e, adjacent or slightly set back from its armhole edge, the strongly curved edge of a lower piece d which is sewn to the upper piece to form an air cushion therewith. The piece a may be reinforced by a strap of strong fabric, resilient in one direction, and a narrower strip of fabric similar to that of a, adjacent the edge e on the under side. A length of ribbon s enables the pad to be sewn into a garment, and the reinforcing strip sewn to the under side of the piece a may be folded double, the fold being secured to the garment lining. The shoulder end of the piece a is provided with a longitudinal slit u beneath which are secured at p<SP>1</SP>, q<SP>1</SP> overlapping pieces of material p, q to enable the neck end of the pad to be adjusted and secured adjacent the garment collar.
