Abstract

651,775. Tubular heat-exchange elements. CALUMET & HECLA CONSOLIDATED COPPER CO. November 19, 1946, No. 34284. [Class 64(iii)] [Also in Group XXII] In condenser, refrigerator &c. tubes, a helical fin is formed integrally with the tube 1 by radially extruding the wall. The overall fin diameter is equal to or less than the unfinned end diameter. The finned portion tapers to a reduced parallel tube in the central region. In a modification, Fig. 7, one or more parts 2 of the original tube may be left unfinned between the tube ends. Specification 651,774, [Group XXII], is referred to.
