[Class 39 (i)] In a transmitter tube 1 the anode 2 is cooled by air or other gas which flows through inlet and outlet ports 8, 9 provided in the base of two-part housing 6, 7 which supports and contains the anode 2. The latter is equipped with cooling sectors 3 and the lower housing part 7 resting on the floor 11 is preferably of insulating material, for example ceramic material. Two tubes 14, 15 underneath the floor 11 register with the inlet and outlet ports 8, 9 and floor apertures 12, 13 and serve to supply and discharge respectively the cooling air.
