[Class 122(iii)] [Also in Group XXIX] In a sliding-gate or rotary cylindrical valve (see Group XXIX), an annular extension 11 on a seat member is sealed with respect to the valve housing by the introduction into a groove 43 of a sealing substance, e.g. a castor oil base lubricant. This substance, which is also used for lubricating and sealing the relatively movable parts of the valve, is contained in reservoirs 47 having pistons 48 and is pressurized by leakage of fluid controlled by the valve into a chamber 5.
