Abstract

The steam curing of concrete &c. is facilitated by forming channels in it which divide the mass into cubes. The channels may be a few mm. diameter and not more than 5 cm., and the cubes are of 0.3 to 1 cubic decimetre. The channels are formed by pointed tools or by casting plugs in the mass and withdrawing before or after curing, or rods of porous material may be cast and left in the concrete.
