Abstract
650,442. Cables. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Nov. 16, 1948, No. 29729. [Class 36] The outer conductor of a H.F. coaxial cable consists of a smooth metal strip folded longitudinally to form a tube 4 supported around the inner conductor 3 by insulating spacers 5, one or both edges of the strip having corrugations 6 which are so shaped or displaced that the meeting edges of the strip will not overlap during flexing of the cable. The corrugations 6 may lie on one side of the plane of the tape and may be deformed from a natural symmetrical shape. The outer conductor may be secured in position by one or more helically applied tapes 7. Specifications 650,429 and 650,431 are referred to.
