Abstract
649,492. Rotary engines. BAGHUIS, L. H. Sept. 30, 1948, No. 25513. Convention date, Oct. 10, 1947. [Class 110(ii)] The engine of the type described in Specification 602,836 has an outer rotor 3, carrying rotary abutments 8, and a stator 2 carrying pistons 6, 7, the stator being supported on a fixed shaft 1 by means of an elastic member 12. The member 12 may be of rubber or the like and have splines on its outer and inner surfaces. This allows the shaft 1 to deviate from its axis without affecting the running of the engine. Passages 5, 5a act as inlet and outlet conduits for working fluid. The stator 2 has a toothed periphery 11 on which the pistons are mounted, and around which the toothed peripheries of the abutments run. The pistons 6, 7 and recesses 9 extend axially through a shorter distance than the abutments and the teeth 11, so that the abutments remain coupled continuously during rotation of the latter.
