Abstract

646,487. Taps for drums. PHILLIPS TELESCOPIC TAPS, Ltd., and BRADBURY, T. H. Sept.. 3, 1948, No. 23202. [Class 21] The bearing tube 1 of a telescopic tap may be moved relative to a screwed bush 5 in which it is secured so that the position of the tap outlet 12a may be adjusted relatively to the drum. The bush 5 has a cap 8, the flange of which is turned onto an enlarged head 2 on the tube 1 to force it against a rim 10 of the bush and a resilient washer 15. After the bush 5, with the tap, has been screwed into the drum, the head 2 may be rotated by a lever to adjust the position of the outlet 12a. The head 2 has indentations to accommodate the lever. A sealing disc may cover the closed tap.
