Abstract

640,128. Closures. ARMSTRONG CORK CO. May 26, 1948, No. 14215. Convention date, June 10, 1947. [Class 125(iii)] A closure of plastic material e.g. of polyethylene, plasticized nylon or the like to be screwed to a container without the use of a packing washer has a domed top 5 with an annular and preferably curved sectioned recess 4 providing controllable stretch at the sealing surface. The closures may be of screw-cap type, as shown in Fig. 4, or of lug type. The recess may be provided on the underside of the closure.
