639,895. Deep fat frying apparatus. VISSER. W. A. Dec. 31, 1947. No. 35289. Convention date, Dec. 11, 1946. [Class 28(i)] [Also in Group XXX] A method and apparatus for frying food comprises passing the food through a heated and totally enclosed channel type tank 11 containing fat or oil 6 and then carrying the portions of food into and through a chamber 34 heated by hot air where cooking is completed and surplus fat is removed. A screw type conveyer 8 (see Group XXX) carries the food through the fat, and a conveyer having rake-shaped members 20 transfers the food to chamber 34 and then into discharge tray 28 via the shoot 27. Grid 25 through which members 20 depend allows excess fat to drain off. Pump circulation means may be provided in place of the conveyer 8.
