Abstract
638,463. Spray-producers. SEYFORTH, R. C. Feb. 25, 1948, No. 5672. Convention date, June 20, 1939. [Class 69 (iii)] An eduction tube 161 within a liquid container 30, Fig. 6, has an outlet nozzle 18<SP>1</SP> and a diameter such that liquid is raised therein by capillary attraction to the level of a small orifice 201 in the tube wall, spraying being effected by forcing an air current across the nozzle. The tube may have an internal diameter from 0.02 inch to 0.0625 inch. Alternatively the sprayer comprises a casing 1, a plunger 8 reciprocable therein and providing a liquid receptacle through which passes an air tube 11 with a discharge port 13. The liquid chamber has a filler neck 23 which passes through a slot 5 in the casing wall. The nozzle 18 of an eduction tube 16 having an air vent 20 is in alignment with the slot 5 when a finger-piece 14 is depressed, and air is thereby forced from the port 13 across the nozzle, producing a spray.
