634,405. Hose end fittings. AEROQUIP CORPORATION. June 2, 1947, No. 14596. Convention date, March 14. [Class 99(i)] A metal end-fitting for a flexible hosepipe 1, comprising a spigot 3 and socket 4 between which the end of the pipe is compressed to form a fluid-tight joint, is protected from fire by means of a sleeve 7 of fire-resisting and heat-insulating material such as synthetic rubber having asbestos fibres incorporated therein. The sleeve 7 may extend along a part or the entire length of the pipe 1 and may enclose fittings at opposite ends of the pipe.
