Abstract
633,619. Liquid pressure engines. ORELL, H. Oct. 30, 1945, No. 28733. Convention date, Oct. 30, 1944. [Class 69 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] In an axial piston motor comprising a rotatable cylinder body 1 within which the pistons are reciprocably mounted, such pistons being associated with motion-converting means whereby reciprocation of the pistons is converted into rotary motion which motionconverting means includes a disc 2 connected rigidly to a shaft 3 of which the inclination in relation to the axis of the cylinder body is adjustable to vary the piston stroke, said rotatable cylinder body 1 being supported by the bearing surface of a port block 13, the disc 2 and port block 13 are supported by means of curved bearing surfaces on the faces of the disc and port block remote from the pistons and mating with correspondingly curved supporting surfaces which at least partially embrace the disc and port block, the supporting surfaces being rigidly connected to each other. In the embodiment shown in Figs. 1 and 2 the supporting surfaces are formed on a rockable inner casing formed by mussel-shaped plates 11, the casing having rocking pivots 31 through which the inlet and outflow of the liquid passing through the cylinders may be effected. Five other embodiments are described showing that the supporting surfaces may be spherical and that an inner casing embracing the cylinder parts from the rear only may be utilized.
