633,598. Check valves. FINNEY PRESSES, Ltd., and MOORE, G. E. Jan. 3, 1948, No. 222. [Class 135] A spring-loaded non- return hydraulic valve comprises a closure member 1 coacting with a seat 5 and mounted within a chamber 2 through which the fluid passes from an inlet 3 to an outlet 4 and is characterized by a part of the stem 8 of the valvemember, i.e. the part above a series of grooves 9 which provide fluid passages, being formed as a piston within the outlet so as to close the outlet and force hydraulic fluid from within the chamber over the valve seating to give a cushioning effect during the final part of the closing of the valve. A stop 12 is provided for the valve stem which is loaded by a spring 10.
