Abstract
630,347. Hinged couplings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., CURTIS, P. B., and BREWSTER, L. M. KING-. Aug. 20, 1947, No. 23091. [Class 38 (i)] A contact 42 sliding on a conductor, e.g. the coil of an inductor of the kind described in Specification 630,353, [Group XXXV], comprises a shaped block 45 mounted on a plunger 38 so that it may rock transverse to the conductor but not longitudinally thereof. The plunger 38 has limited travel in a tube 35 and is provided with a spring-loaded ball 43 which fits a recess 48 in a collar 47 on the block 45. The section of the plunger shown is plane but at rightangles to this it is generally V-shaped. A resilient loop of strip conductor 46 is secured to the tube 35 and to the collar 47 to hold the contact in position.
