Abstract

629,705. Key bases. BUXTON, Inc. July 16, 1947, No. 19019. Convention date, Sept. 3, 1946. [Class 44] [Also in Group XVII] A key case comprises a back member 1, Fig. 1, a key supporting member 10 having a key holder connecting portion 11, Fig. 2, and a plate portion 13 secured to the case and fastening means 14 securing a panel member 5 to the outer face of the plate portion 13, a portion 9 of the panel member 5 being folded downwardly over the fastening means. An-attaching marginal portion 4 extending from the upper edge of the back member 1 is folded downwardly and stitched at 6 to the upper edge of the panel member 5 to form a hinge. The portion of the panel member adjacent the hinge is reversely folded forming rear, intermediate and front members 7, 8, 9, respectively, the plate portion 13 being housed between members 7 and 8 and riveted to them at 14. The key holder connecting portion is cylindrical and has key holders such as 12 swivelled thereto. The back member 1 is formed with hinged side portions 2, 3, which fold over the back member 1 in the usual manner and a piece 15 may be stitched to the back of the lower portion of the panel member to form a pocket 16. Modifications are described in one of which the back member 1 is integral with the panel member 5 to eliminate the need for stitching 6 ; in the other the marginal portion 4 is extended sufficiently to form member 7, the members 8 and 9 being formed by a single fold at the upper portion of the panel.
