Abstract
517,893. Wardrobe travelling cases. BROOKS & CO., Ltd., J. B., and TIPPING, W. E. Aug. 17, 1938, No. .24205. [Class 18] A wardrobe travelling case includes a pivoted frame 5 which is normally housed in the lid of the case but can be swung out so that the garment hangers 7 it carries are supported in an elevated position at the front of the case, and a frame 11 pivoted to the frame 5 can be swung down over the front edge of the case to hold the garments clear thereof or, when the frame 5 is swung back into the lid, the frame 11 is folded down so that hooks 16 carried thereby engage behind studs 14 on the sides of the lid to lock the frame 5 in position. The latter frame 5 is actually pivoted to a further frame 3 which is pivoted inside the lid of the case.' In the extended position shown, the frame 3 is supported on lugs 8 and frame 5 rests against lugs 9 formed on quadrant plates 10 carried by frame 3; and, in the folded position, the plates 10 abut against the studs 14 and the two frames also abut against stops 12. Instead of hooks 16, the frame 11 may carry notched plates to engage springs on the lid.
