[Class 18] [Also in Group XXXI] A pedal operated chain driven tricycle has a rigid container for carrying parcels, luggage and the like extending across substantially the whole width of the space behind the saddle and between the two rear wheels and rigidly secured to the frame of the tricycle, the forward portion of the container being so shaped and located as not to impede operation of the tricycle by the rider and the rear mudguards being supported by the container and directly connected thereto or held by struts or brackets mounted upon or forming part of the container. The container A is secured to the tricycle by two pairs of brackets encircling cross members of the frame supporting the saddle and a further pair of brackets E 1 , E 2 and struts S support the mudguards. The container may be formed with the rear mudguards. The lid C of the container is provided with cross members F having cranked ends F<SP>1</SP> moving in slots in brackets H secured to the container. The parts F<SP>1</SP> are secured to wire springs G at one end the other end of the spring being secured to the brackets H. The lid C is secured by a button catch K which is rotated to open the container, the cranks F<SP>1</SP> rising in the slot.
