Abstract

628,744. Knitting. TEXTIL-FORSCHUNGEN AKT.-GES. July 2, 1946, No. 19796. Convention date, July 2, 1945. [Class 74 (ii)] A fashioned stocking blank is knitted with its courses extending lengthways. The upper end 1 of the blank, which is knitted on a flat bed machine, may be reinforced by elastic threads 8 and longitudinal ornamental stripes 9 or other fancy effects may be included. Fashioning is carried out by varying the lengths of pairs of courses 7. Successive stockings are separated by a removable thread 5, filler strips 4 on either side of the instep portion being removed before the stocking is completed.
