Abstract

628,376. Weather bar for skylights &c. WILLIAMS, H. M. Sept. 30, 1947, No. 26332. [Class 20(iii)] A weather bar for skylights &c. consists of a cone 1 sheathed with weather resistant material 2 with two upstanding flanges 3, 6 of the same material which impede the flow of air along the under surface of the glass 5 and orifices 4 in one flange through which water of condensation escapes. The space between the flanges 3 and 6 may be packed with porous absorbent material 8, and the outlets 4 extended by downwardly bent tubes 4a which may be integral with the sheath or separately attached. In the example shown in Fig. 3 the outlet 4 is connected to an upwardly bent tube 4a so that a water seal 9 is formed. The outlets are preferably four to six inches apart and the internal diameter of the outlets and tubes is preferably one-eighth of an inch.
