Abstract
628,190. Endless tracks. ALLARD, P. J. M. T. Feb. 4, 1947, No. 3313. Convention date, Feb. 4, 1946. [Class 79 (i)] In an endless-track vehicle the guiding means for the track comprises very light drums 6, 7, each formed by a cylinder 11 fixed to cheeks 12, 13, the peripheries of which project radially from the cylinder, and having a diameter equal to the distance between the upper and lower runs of the track when the latter is horizontal. As shown the endless track 10 rolls over the drums 6, 7, and a driving drum 4. The drums 6, 7 are mounted on a compensating bar 5 pivoted at 3 on the vehicle frame 1. The driving drum 4 is driven through a reversing gear box 28 and a chain 26 engaging a toothed crown secured to the drum which has two castellated rings engaging the pivots of the track. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also states that the track can be formed of shoes each secured to links 29, 30, Fig. 4 (Cancelled). The links are welded at one end to a sleeve 31 and the other end to a pivot pin rotatable within the sleeve of the next pair of links. The sleeve is provided with a grease lubricator. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
