[Class 132 (iii)] A doll comprises a soft body containing stuffing 23, a bearing member 17 in the upper portion of said body having a fabric sheet 20 secured thereto, the said fabric being secured also to the stuffing by stitches 24 to prevent relative movement of the bearing member and the body, a shaft 14 rotatably mounted in the bearing member and a head 10 fixed to the shaft for rotation therewith, the said head having a plurality of expressions. One end 15 of the shaft bears a disc member 16 integral with or attached to the top of the head, and to the other end is fixed a small ball 19 which prevents removal of the assembly from the bearing member 17. The head and ball stop are in frictional contact with the bearing member, preventing undesirable rotation of the head. The top portion of the fabric 21 forming the body is attached to the fabric sheet 20 fixed to the bearing member. The greater part of the head is enclosed within a hood 26 allowing but one face to be exposed. Tufts of hair 27, 28 and 29 are secured to the hood to enhance the appearance of the doll : suitable clothing is also provided. If desired, the head may form a bearing support for end 15 of shaft 14 the support being covered by the hood, the other end of the shaft protruding from the body and being provided with a hand engaging disc. In this modification the hand-engaging member is preferably concealed, for instance disposed between the legs of the doll and covered by the clothing.
